Busy Days
This past week has been a busy one. I’m back at Waterstones for the Cheltenham Literature Festival. We’re about halfway through right now and it’s crazy. People are getting super excited about books. I love it! When the week is over I’ll do my book haul. It’s a big’un. I’ve really missed that Waterstones discount!
Because my outside life has been a little chaotic my productivity has dropped to nearly nothing. Which isn’t great at all. I hope that being surrounded by book people for a couple of weeks will inspire me. And when I’m free to write all day every day my words will better? That’s how it works, right?
In other procrastination news, I’ve invested in a new hobby! I’ve already posted a couple of pictures of my messingsabout with polymer clay but my real goal is to work with clay and resin. So now my UV resin arrived and I’ve been trying it out.
A couple of years ago on my month long excursion to Tokyo, I stumbled upon a little wildlife themed craft fair in Tokyo Hands. A few years later I still remember these little glass ponds:
Super pretty right?
To practice with my new resin, I tried to replicate these little cuties. Here are the results:
Obviously, mine are kind of dumb looking. The whole things are no bigger than a £2 coin so the frogs were super fiddly. But as an experiment with resin, I think they worked out okay! I love the inside of the pond, it’s just my little frogs that need some work.
Have a great week!
