Book Harvest: April 2017
Because it was my birthday I now have 5 new friends, 2 rediscovered friends and 1 recommendation. Let’s go from left to right!
Snotgirl by Bryan Lee O’Malley. Not heard anything about this graphic novel but it stuck out on the shelf and looked fun!
Arthur by Mikael Lindnord. My mum recommended this to me. It’s about a dog who latches on to a group of hikers. A true story.
The Forest in Folklore and Mythology by Alexander Porteous. Rediscovered and ready to be loved! After I brushed off the cobwebs!
A Discovery of Witches by Deborah E. Harkness. I was about half way through this book when I left it at my mum’s house before I moved.. it spoke to me…
The Mabinogion by Sioned Davies. After a weekend in Wales I thought I should invest in the greatest welsh mythological masterpiece. There’s a pronunciation guide in the front which has proved useful for all those annoyingly ‘ff’ ‘dd’ ‘ll’ welsh words.
The Mammoth Book of Cthulhu edited by Paula Guran! Bunch of short ‘Lovecraftian’ stories.
Fingers in the Sparkle Jar by Chris Packham. Birthday present from my mum! About a boy and his magical relationship with a kestrel.
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. Birthday present from an awesome friend. It’s a Young Adult novel that’s been really highly recommended.
