Poetry: No Sleep

May 16, 2014
This is what happens when I can’t sleep
🙂

Can’t keep it still.
Can’t keep it clean.
Can’t keep it focused.
Can’t keep it lean.

Can’t make it listen.
Can’t make it learn.
Can’t make it grow.
Can’t make it burn.

Can’t feel it wince.
Can’t feel it glow.
Can’t feel it boil.
Can’t feel it blow.

Can’t hold it’s hand.
Can’t hold it’s fire.
Can’t hold it’s thoughts.
Can’t hold it’s desire.

Can’t stop it hurting.
Can’t stop it’s power.
Can’t stop it shouting.
Can’t stop it’s cower.

Can’t get it better.
Can’t get it right.
Can’t get it help
Can’t get it bright.

Can’t fight it’s strength.
Can’t fight it’s will.
Can’t fight it’s passion.
Can’t fight it’s thrill.

Can’t turn it over.
Can’t turn it round.
Can’t turn it back.
Can’t turn it profound.

Can’t force it’s focus.
Can’t force it through.
Can’t force it’s change.
Can’t force it new.

Can’t give it grace.
Can’t give it rest.
Can’t give it much.
Can’t give it the best.

Can’t leave it behind.
Can’t leave it outside.
Can’t leave it homeless.

Can’t leave it’s side.
